Hong Kong Map Art

Hong Kong Island's spine runs east-west, with Victoria Harbour cutting a deep crescent between the island and Kowloon's grid. The harbor's shape—narrow at the eastern gap of Lei Yue Mun, widening westward—has anchored the city since the 1841 British survey, forcing all major development onto strips of flatland between steep ridgelines. The MTR rail network traces the waterfront, then shoots inland through valleys, binding the fragmented peaks and coastal districts into a single web.
